Lead + Sale vs Pending Sale

If you are in lead generation, you might wonder what event workflow fits best for your offers. You can either set up two separate events (Lead and Sale) or handle everything under one event (Pending Sale and Approved Sale). It depends on how each offer works, and you can mix approaches across your workspace. Thanks to the Transaction type feature, you have full flexibility to define payouts correctly.

Lead + Sale

Use this when you want to reward both leads and sales as separate events. Common in finance or insurance where a lead may or may not convert later. Set the transaction type to Lead for CPL commissions (with any Commission Conditions) and Sale for CPS, so the system applies the right rules.

Pending Sale + Approved Sale

Use this when you only pay for sales but need a review step before approval, such as e-commerce where orders can be canceled or refunded. A transaction first logs as Pending, then switches to Approved once validated.

👉 Rule of thumb: Lead + Sale for two-step funnels, Pending + Approved Sale for one-step funnels with verification.
