Commission conditions to create Transactions

⚠️ A commission is simply a rule that defines when and how a transaction should be created from conversion. Settings below are only available for workspace commissions from advertisers, because partner commissions reflect those values.

A commission is a rule that defines when and how a transaction (with payout) should be created from a conversion.
The settings below apply only to workspace commissions from advertisers, since partner commissions automatically mirror those values.

Conversions are sent into PalDock via postback or pixel. On their own, conversions are only performance metrics without a payout. To turn them into transactions, you need to create a commission with conditions that determine when a transaction is generated. Some conversions are created by PalDock (clicks, leads), while others are created via tracking (prospects, sales).

You can set conditions based on:

  • Offer – choose one or more offers (required).
  • Advertiser – choose one or more advertisers.
  • Conversion type – select the type of conversion that should trigger the commission, such as click, lead, send, prospect, sale, or a custom type.
  • Source – choose whether it applies to all sources or only a specific one, such as affiliate link, iframe, or API.
  • Channel – when using Pingtree in offers, you can name each channel and reference that name here.

You might also want to check out the Transaction type feature. If you do not set a transaction type, the system will use the default type Sale. On page Prospect + Sale vs Pending Sale you can see why it is useful.
