Click/Lead Time vs. Transaction Time Reporting

In PalDock reports, you can choose whether metrics are calculated based on the time of click/lead creation or based on the time of transaction creation.

This distinction is important, because there is often a time delay between when a click or lead is generated and when the resulting transaction is approved or rejected.

How to Switch

You can toggle the reporting mode using the target icon in the table header.

  • Default setting: Reports are based on lead creation time.
  • Switchable: You can change to transaction creation time when needed.

Thanks to the virtual wallet system, no commissions can ever “get lost” and be uninvoiced. Payouts are always calculated correctly regardless of which time basis you use.

Reporting by Click/Lead Creation (default)

Pros

  • Provides a more real-time view of traffic and partner activity
  • Useful for monitoring the immediate effect of campaigns
  • Helps you understand when leads are actually being generated

Cons

  • Transactions are reported back to the day the lead was created, not the day they were approved/rejected
  • This means short-term reports (e.g. yesterday) may look incomplete, because some transactions will be added later into the historical day when the lead was first created

Use when

  • You want to evaluate campaign performance in real time
  • You are monitoring traffic sources and lead inflow
  • You need quick insights for optimization decisions

Reporting by Transaction Creation

Pros

  • Shows the final outcome (approved, pending, rejected) at the exact time of decision
  • Useful for financial reporting, billing, and payout approval
  • Data is more stable and definitive

Cons

  • Includes a delay compared to when the click/lead was originally created
  • Doesn’t reflect immediate campaign activity

Use when

  • You need to calculate payouts and invoices
  • You want to compare revenues vs. costs with stable numbers
  • You are analyzing long-term partner performance

Summary

  • Click/Lead creation = fast, real-time performance insights, but numbers can shift as transactions are processed.
  • Transaction creation = slower, but final and reliable data for financial purposes.
  • Use the target icon to switch between modes at any time.

With the virtual wallet, all commissions are tracked accurately, ensuring you never lose payouts, no matter which reporting mode you choose.
