You can set a commission to create a transaction with specified amounts for yourself and your partners. PalDock supports three commission amount types:
1. Fixed amount: Enter a fixed value that will always be used as the payout amount.
2. Percentage:
- For advertiser commissions, the percentage is calculated from the value received in the postback. You can enter either a number (e.g., 10) or a number with a percentage sign (e.g., 10%). For example, if the value is 100 and the commission is set to 10%, the resulting amount will be 10.
- For partner commissions, the percentage is calculated from the advertiser’s commission amount. You can again enter a number or a percentage. For example, if the advertiser’s commission is 10 and the partner commission is set to 50%, the payout to the partner will be 5.
3. Calculation: Use any system field and any field from the postback in a custom formula to calculate the commission amount.
- To avoid displaying a complex formula, you can use the Display amount function to show a cleaner label instead.
- This is also useful if you want to base partner commissions on a different value than the advertiser’s commission. For example, if you receive 10% of the value from the advertiser and want to pay partners 5% of that value, you can set the formula to 0.05 * {value} and set the Display amount to simply “5%.”
Examples:
- If you’re a network, your profit is the difference between the partner payout and what you receive from the advertiser.
- If you’re an advertiser, this defines your maximum CPA used to calculate profit per partner.
- If you’re an affiliate using a dedicated workspace, you can set both values the same. This applies only to you (or your future sub-affiliates).
You can configure commission amounts in the Commission section to edit multiple offers at once, or in the Offer settings if you only need to adjust a single offer.
PalDock automatically calculates reporting metrics, such as ROI, based on the difference between your amount and the partner payout.
